Application Process

From surface preparation to final protection

Texture Coating application step 1: Surface Preparation
1
Step 1

Surface Preparation

Clean the wall thoroughly. Fill cracks or holes with putty and sand smooth. The surface must be clean, dry, and free of dust before proceeding.

1 day

For painted walls, sand to roughen before applying putty.

Texture Coating application step 2: Mixing & Tinting
2
Step 2

Mixing & Tinting

Mix putty/lime powder with water 鈥?slightly thinner than standard joint compound. Add latex paint tint and record the ratio. Color will appear lighter when dry.

30 mins

Mix more than you need 鈥?matching mid-project is difficult.

Texture Coating application step 3: Base Coat Application
3
Step 3

Base Coat Application

Apply the tinted material thinly and evenly using a trowel or scraper. Consistent thickness matters more than absolute flatness at this stage.

4-6 hrs drying

A uniform base coat makes texture creation much easier.

Texture Coating application step 4: Texturing
4
Step 4

Texturing

When the material is about 70% dry (touch-clean but still damp), use scrapers, brushes, or sponges to press, drag, or stipple the surface into your desired pattern. Mist with water if it dries too quickly.

2-3 hrs (depends on area)

Work in small sections 鈥?the material sets faster than expected.

Texture Coating application step 5: Protective Topcoat
5
Step 5

Protective Topcoat

Once the texture is fully dry, apply a clear topcoat varnish. This improves abrasion resistance, dust resistance, and makes the surface easier to clean.

1 day drying

Matte topcoat preserves the natural look of the texture best.

Steps may vary depending on substrate conditions, indoor/outdoor location, ambient temperature, and the specific decorative effect desired. This guide is for reference only. Always refer to the full technical datasheet for your specific product.
